iProcure vs Malbek

Malbek starts at the contract. iProcure starts at the need.

Malbek is a contract lifecycle management platform that starts at the contract request and serves legal, sales and procurement. iProcure is one source-to-pay product that starts at the purchase need, runs the RFx and evaluation, and carries the award into the contract, PO and paid invoice.

What Malbek is, in their own framing

Malbek describes itself as contract lifecycle management with commercial intelligence across the contract portfolio. BusinessIQ answers portfolio questions with citations, Klix handles clickwrap agreements, and business admins configure workflows and integrations with clicks, not code. It serves buy-side and sell-side contracts and cites a Leader placement in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CLM.

Credit where due

Where Malbek leads

  • Contract depth: self-service from approved templates, review of the supplier's paper against playbooks, and strong amendment handling.
  • Portfolio intelligence: BusinessIQ answers questions across all contracts, with citations.
  • Configuration by business admins, including integrations, with clicks, not code.
  • Sell-side contracts with Salesforce and HubSpot, and clickwrap through Klix.
  • Analyst recognition: a Leader in the 2025 Gartner Magic Quadrant for CLM, by their account.

Our edge

Where iProcure leads

  • Everything before the contract: intake, RFx, supplier confidentiality, evaluation and award, in the same product.
  • The award flows into the contract without retyping, and the supplier's committed answers become tracked obligations (demo).
  • An evaluator workspace where many people score one file independently, then reach a consensus on the record (demo).
  • Leaders decide from the email with a one-time link, no portal login. Live today.
  • Purchase orders and invoices in the same record, sold as modules you switch on when you need them.

Honesty rule

What we don't claim

  • Full CLM. Our Contracts module is a sample-data demo today.
  • Portfolio intelligence or ask-your-contracts. Both are on the roadmap.
  • Contract families and mass amendment. Not built.
  • Sell-side contracts or CRM integration. Out of scope; iProcure is buy-side.

Which to pick

An honest recommendation

Pick Malbek when

Pick Malbek when legal owns the problem: high contract volume on both the buy side and the sell side, a queue of third-party paper, amendments and renewals to control, and sourcing already handled elsewhere. It is a strong choice for a legal team buying CLM on its own.

Pick iProcure when

Pick iProcure when procurement owns the problem and contracts are the output of sourcing: you want the requirement, the RFx, the evaluation, the award, the contract, the PO and the invoice in one record, and you would rather start with two modules than buy and integrate three tools.

FAQ

iProcure vs Malbek: questions

Is iProcure a Malbek alternative?

Only if your contract work is procurement-led. iProcure covers the span from purchase request to paid invoice, with contracts as one module. It does not match Malbek's CLM depth, portfolio intelligence or sell-side contracts. For a legal team buying CLM alone, Malbek is the better fit.

Does Malbek do RFx or sourcing events?

Not according to its own site. Malbek starts at the contract request. The RFI, RFP or RFQ, the evaluation and the award happen in another tool, often Keelvar, SAP Ariba or Coupa, and the result is passed to Malbek as a contract request.

How does the award become a contract in iProcure?

The award becomes the contract draft, so the supplier, prices and terms are never retyped. What the supplier committed to in its RFx answers, such as service levels, warranty and lead time, becomes an obligation someone tracks. This flow is shown on sample data today, and the demo walks through it from award to contract.

Can iProcure handle sales contracts like Malbek?

No. iProcure is buy-side only. Sell-side contracts and CRM integration with Salesforce or HubSpot are out of scope. If you need one CLM for both sides of the business, Malbek covers that and we do not.
